Coly McCoy was injured when he was hit in the back of the shoulder by the defensive linemen. Look at the picture above for the exact spot.
Now his x-rays were negative, but take a look at this x-ray:
Otherwise, known as the shoulder blade, in the back part of the upper body. Here is a pic of what I am talking about:
